Silver Clay Snowflake Earrings

I don't claim to dabble, I've never used silver clay in my life, and it'll be a while before I do again. It's expensive!
For our school's art club banquet we (after eating at a buffet) went to an art studio that one of the member's mom owned. We got a nifty discount and some cool trials, including a silver clay hands on workshop. The other workshop we did was with glass beads, but school ended before we could pick them up and I haven't texted my art teacher about getting those back yet. P:

Silver clay is tougher than polymer clay to work with. It dries quickly and isn't easilly ressurected. It also comes in very small portions. I couldn't think of anything so I used a sparkle stamp, a star cutter, and finally a scalpel to turn them into snowflake shapes.

We got them all nice and cooked a couple days later and used a concoction of hot chemicals to tarnish them. The tarnishing is an inexact art. I left one pair untarnished, one pair fully tarnished (though I rubbed off too much and they're still shiny) and one pair my sister got to look sort of gold-colored. My guess is that the chemicals had begun cooling by that time. I should have dunked them more than once for added color, but I can probably add some color another way.

First I tried gluing them to earring backs, but the glue we have isn't strong enough. They stick but it's easy to break them off. My dad suggested soldering, and so we bought a new gun (we lost our old one) and my dad showed me how to use it. So far they're holding up nicely, though I got some of the metal onto the very tip of one earring and I have to really push it through my piercing, ha. But it still fits.
