After a long time of having this up, I've finally come to a decision.

I will never "agree to disagree" on this issue.

If you think banning gay marriage is right, you are wrong. It's beginning to piss me off.
(While any argument below this next line is over two years old, and probably not worded very well, I still stick with it and will defend it to the last. So, bring it.)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In my most humble opinion, banning gay marriage is the most retarted thing our nation can do (except maybe banning abortion, but that's an argument for another time).
When I learned about the United States way back in fifth grade, I heard that this was the Land of the Free. Freedom of religion, freedom of the press, freedom for us, the people, to make decisions. So why are we changing this? Why are we, as America, wanting to limit the decisions we can make? Why let the government control everything we can do?

Some people say that homosexuals aren't "natural." How are they /not/ natural? People are stuck with the sexual preference that they are when they're born. It's completely natural and not in their hands. You cannot persecute people for being black, or Indian, but we can persecute people for being gay? All of these things people are just born with, and all of these things have been around for thousands of years. Why, now, should we turn them away from society?

Some people say that it's blasphemy against God. Hey, what happened to the Freedom of Religion? Not everyone is of your religion. How can people complain about religion creeping into our schools and yet want to keep men from marrying men and women from marrying women all over the country for how they are of faith?

Some people just say that it creeps them out, that it just isn't right. Some people get creeped out by scary movies, but we aren't banning those, are we? And I'm sure most people have heard of "gaydar;" these people aren't going to come ask you out or anything like that if they aren't sure you are gay, too. Wouldn't they know the risk if they where wrong?

I've actually heard the argument that all the countries that had previously allowed gay marriage have not lasted very long, and that the basis of a civilization is 1 man + 1 woman= 1 or more children. How can you justify that more gay marriage means less kids? How many kids are gays going to have even if they don't get married? And, how many countries do you know that have actually "fallen" because of allowed gay marriages? How many have been one of the top countries in the world?

I do apologize if any of this has offended anyone of any sexual orientation. I'm not big on politics or advanced terminology, but I don't like stupid people, and I don't like it when people try to control other people.

I saw this cute little bug on the way back from cheering for my aunts who were walking/involved in a 3-day breast cancer walk (I'm gonna put up some pictures a little later!). I had to take some pics. This was the best one with my zoom almost all the way zoomed and trying not to get my counsin's head or the side of the window or the other cars. I know it isn't the best picture, but I felt I should put it up anyway. I hope the driver doesn't mind. ^-^;

so glad to see someone speak out about this! in my state we are voting on tuesday to see if gay marriage will now be allowed here or if it will stay illegal... i will be voting for gay marriage eventhough i am not gay myself.. i dont think its fair that only straight people are allowed to get married! this system of ours is corrupt and must be brought to its knees before it gets even worse then it already is!
i went ahead and faved this in hopes of others seeing it and realizing that gay marriage is not a bad thing! heck being gay isnt bad!
thank you much for sharing this!

Thank you! I really hope it is accepted. I heard the other day that gay marriage had been legalized in New Jersey and I was so happy.

I totally agree with you 100%. Our government system might be one of the best in the world, but it's far from perfect and has many flaws. Letting narrow-minded people control every desicion made is horrible.

Thank you oh so much for the fave. I hoped that this would get around and you're helping so much! :D  :glomp:

Geez. They're people and they're being treated like there's something wrong with them.

Nice pic, too =P
